Each Thomas Portable Goal Post is custom made upon receipt of an order. We do not hold an inventory of ready goals. From the receipt of a confirmed order, we normally can deliver your goal post(s) within 30-40 days.
HOW DO YOU DELIVER THE GOAL POST?
A) You can pick up the goal directly from us either as an assembled unit ready to tow home or as a crated package ready to assemble at home. Unassembled, we recommend transporting on a medium flatbed truck or on a minimum 12′ long trailer. (No fee)
B) We can deliver the goal post to you as an assembled unit, ready to use, for a per mile fee. This is cost effective for states adjoining North Carolina only. ($1.50 per mile one way charge)
C) We can ship the unassembled unit to you as a crated package. It comes with every part necessary and an assembly manual. Two people can assemble the goal post in approximately 4 hours using simple hand tools. You have the option of deleting the battery for a $100 credit and then purchase your standard automotive 12 volt battery locally. Our assembly manual in .pdf format will be available on this site very soon. And we are always available to answer any questions regarding assembly. (Fee for crating plus various freight fees depending on destination. Unit plus shipping crate weighs approximately 735 pounds)
DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?
Yes. We can package and ship to any destination. All international orders are F.O.B. Stoneville, NC., USA. We can also assist with completing any necessary export and VAT documents.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ASSEMBLE?
Two adults should be able to assemble the goal post in approximately 4 hours using standard hand tools. You will need sockets and wrenches up to 1.125″, wire crimps and cutters, pliers, and a small amount of axle bearing grease.
DOES IT COME WITH ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS?

WHAT IF MY STATE REQUIRES A TITLE AND TAG?
Most states follow the regulations set out by the US Department of Transportation. D.O.T. has determined that our goal post falls under the “special use” category much like a portable cement mixer and does not require a title or tag. IF your state requires a title and attached VIN, we will attached an assigned NC VIN, title the goal in North Carolina, and send the title to you for reassignment in your state. We will charge you a small fee for acquiring an initial NC title.
WHAT SIZES DO YOU OFFER?
Our standard version is built to college and professional regulations 18′-6” between uprights and 10′ high at the crossbar.
We offer one to high school regulations at 23′-4″ between uprights for an upgrade charge.
Some interest has been expressed about Texas 6 on 6 goals. We are currently evaluating the cost to manufacture these goals.
CAN I GET ONE IN A DIFFERENT COLOR?
Yes. We can produce these in approximately 200 different STANDARD powder coating colors for an additional charge. Costs will depend on the price of the powder and any additional time needed to mask the goal components. Each request will be priced on a case by cash basis.

ARE THERE ANY OPTIONS AVAILABLE?
See above. Sizes, colors, shipping, battery delete are options. Right now several other ideas are being explored including base padding. Check back soon to see what we are adding.
CAN YOU MAKE THE GOAL POST IN A CUSTOM SIZE?
Yes. So long as the custom size does not change the physical properties of the goal post or adversely affect the safety of the goal, we’re open to requests.
CAN IT BE USED FOR REGULATION GAMES?
Maybe. The Thomas Goal Post was originally designed primarily for practice fields. At this time we don’t recommend using it during game conditions. BUT, we’ve had such a growing number of inquiries about game usage we are exploring ideas. Here are two things to consider. There is no standard offset or overhang between the upright and crossbar. And we currently do not offer any padding for the goal post. We are currently investigating the cost/availability of offering a padding kit. But, it would need to cover the base axle AND the upright post including the winch. That will probably not be an inexpensive option. We will post our finds as soon as we know the costs.
